bitd i was into dh. always wanted a yeti due to missy giove, jimmy deaton, ... but when they got the lawwil i know that someday i need to have one of those ...

last year i found one on ebay. it was in a sorry state, but was cheap, no cracks or dents and the shock was ok.

delivered in a black ratle can paintjob:

a real downhill bike needs a rock shock boxxer, so a pair of period correct 151's where sought and found on ebay. they where the same black as the frame, so i got them shot blasted to.

the frame came with the correct 20mm ringlé abbah rear hub on a vgc mavic 321 cd rim

a dh bike needs brakes, and i thought the magura gustav m was the best brake bitd. they dont come cheap on ebay, but found a set that even came with the box! if it wasn't for the faded decals, you could mistake them for nos

unfortunaly i found out that the gustav's don't fit the yeti. it needs the hope c2, so i correct set was searched and found. i need to redo the ano, but i know someone who can do that at work.

the piston seems to be jammed, need to find out how to free it up.


next, i found a nos front 20 mm black ringlé abbah front hub, which i laced up to a mavic 521 cd rim. i realy wanted a 321 cd, but couldn't find one. if one comes along ...

the upper chain guide was with the bike, but i did dound the lower one, and it came wit a upper chain guide in a beter state than the one i had. i will have the chain guide reanodized.

last week someone here on the rb mentioned a shop in the uk that had a nos, single ring xtr m950 cranckset for a decent price. the crank was on a demo and is apart from a scratch on the ring mint. need a bb and the bolts now.

i"m undecided about some parts:

got 2 amoeba stems: one azonic shorty copy and a slightly longer one.
i can use these 2, or maybe a bmx style stem, but i think a bmx stem uses another bars size?

a realy short/hi rise ringlé stem would also be nice, or a roox danny stem?
what do you sugest?

bitd i wanted a renthal bar, but not sure they did a dh riser version?

sadle: undiceded. i got an old flite. the lambo inspired build on rb got me inspired to redo the sadle in the same raw material, or what do you suggest?

parts needed for the build:

m 950/952 rear mech. can swap for a m951 rapid rise one (prefered over buying at the mo)
m950 bb and cranck bolt
rear (or pair) m950 sti shifter, can swap for a nice pair of m950 brakes, but the left shifter is missing

is frame already painted ? which color ?

frame isn't painted yet, but will be painted in the team colors.

i'm looking for the corect ral numbers for the blue and yellow, and for the boxxer's cerry red.

turquoise is ral code 5018 , that yellow i don't know

if you need help for decals , i have complete set for lawwill is missing only 1 yellow dart

Answer Alumilite DH bar and Ringle DH stem?
Azonic Worldforce or Doublewall bar and Azonic Shorty stem? (bonus being you can still get them new pretty easily)

this project is awesome! my friend owned a Lawill 6 bitd. they are awesome bikes, really solid feeling. they were a very good DH chassis of the era. love your parts picks so far!
