this is my latest bike, i got it for a mere £46 off ebay.
i have just spent an hour taking the gripshifts off and replacing them
with the superb xt thumbies i recently bought.
the whole bike was nearly what i paid for the shifters.
anyway, i'm thinking of upgrading the gears & brakes & chainset to deore xt eventually, but i need to know how the acera x stuff performs.
has anyone had any experience with the acera x groupset.
this bike is also in desperate need of some new rubber.
all in all though very happy with my new bike.
but i'm really on the lookout for an explosif in the future.

The Acera stuff will do exactly what XT stuff does - change an oily chain from one cog to another.

How you feel about it is another matter. Personally, I'd change that seatpost as soon as, it may not be the right size, its certainly not original.

yes the seatpost is going along with the saddle.
the seatpost is 26.2 mm, is this easy to replace ?
i think til i get an explosif frame i'll just keep the bike as it is.

I'd be surprised if that seapost is the correct size. Going by the second picture, it looks like the post is too small. This can damage the frame!

Kona technical specs put the seatpost at 27mm!

Ok I'm just going to say it. Its a super average frame with slack geo...i admire the vision but xt on this is like putting platinum on a christmas card, pointless.

That looks great :)

I've had both a '93 & '97 Hahanna's and both got upgraded & both rode brilliantly :)

I'd ride it as it is till the acera wears out and replace it with black LX M56X stuff.

Enjoy it :)
