Hi,
This is the first decent MTB I ever owned. Bought new by me in '97 (I've still got the receipt!!!)
It's taken on many guises over the years but this is how I left it several years ago when I moved back to the UK from New Zealand leaving the bike behind in the care of a close friend.
Fortunately, earlier this year I managed to scrape a few pennies together to get back over and cycle the length of the north island (1200km) - with the main intention of collecting the bike.

The current specs are:
Full Shimano M750 groupset
Easton EA50 finishing kit
Rockshox SID XC's
Another set of Mavic X317 RED rims
XLITE red ano crank bolts, seatpost QR and head spacers
All work originally carried out in 2001

Now I'm pondering......
Do I take it back to absolute original? Let me know what you think

Many thanks

Dino

''Do I take it back to absolute original? Let me know what you think ''

That looks nasty. restore back to it's excellent original best.

It's your bike, it's evolved as you evolved as a rider, and as such should continue to do so
Catalogue spec = bland, boring and devoid of history, character and personality

theres a lad in work with one of these.its almost 100% original, just missing its white industries crank !

i only think he has it for cheap transport rather than being a retro ride.im doing all i can do buy it off him, haha!!
