Just got a Kona frame and was told it's a 18" Explosif. Can anybody please help.

There are no SN marking so not a good start. Poped it on the kitchen scales and weighed just under 2 KG and the measurements are as follows:-

BB to Top seat tube = 18"
Seat tube to head tube = 56.5cm
Headtube = 11cm
rear seat stays = 56.5cm
rear lower stays = 43cm
bb to headtube = 64cm
seatpost diameter = 27.2mm but tight so may be 27mm
heatset 1 1/8"

Any help would be much appreciated.[/img]

I seem to remember something about the kilauea upwards had indentations in the back of the lower stays near where the tyre passes instead of being flat :idea:

Could be wrong, but I thought there was a thread on here somewhere

Hmm...I thought the high end stuff from Kona had the flared seat-tube by the bottom bracket (which this one doesn't have). Decals are mid 90's but I would say a Hahanna or Fire Mountain. But I could be wrong.

My 94 lava dome has flared seat tube at bb.. My 95 cindercone does not..
The colour fits with 94 hahanna/95 lava dome ?
