New member here and wanted to get to know my "new" bike a bit more.
After some reading and searching, I believe it is a 1997 Marin Muirwoods with some parts mix and matched? Maybe someone can verify my findings?
I will be using the bike as a commuter bike through paved roads mostly with a short stretch on a gravel road / bike trail. There is a hill which I need to travel through. According to google maps, it's about a 120m climb.
There are two things that I'm thinking about doing and wanted some advice / comment from everyone here.
1. Remove the front shocks and replace with shockless front fork
2. Upgrade the brakes
I'm not sure if I am able to upgrade the brakes without causing too much trouble. Shops tell me to just buy a new disk brake bike.
What do you guys think?
