This is my slowest ever build. Been hoarding parts for something along these lines since mid-2006. Still need some Campag brake levers but I don't think they'll ever come up for sale....

That my friend is f*ckin awesome....

patience of a saint rewarded with oh so sweet build....very impressed

Nicely done, glad to see the MAvic headset went to a good home

Is the frame made in France? Any idea on tubing?

Think the build might deserve some more boutique stem, bars, post and saddle although understand they match the frame.

Frame is Ritchey triple butted made by Grisely in Canada.

Considered putting a Syncros stem on it but the seatpost is a stupid stupid size so will always be an eyesore. The stem and seatpost are from the original kit so... can live with them.

The Mavic Dakar look awesome.

I love the quality of them. Beautiful machine, what retro bug is all about :)

very nice .

need to start work on mine .

would be cool to find some first generation Look pedals with matching shoes .

tres bon. i can just picture this one going up and over some beautiful craggy alps, and stopping for a fresh brie and lettuce bagutte at the top.

Every so often I see a bit of kit that takes me back and makes me go all quiet.

Those hubs...

Thought they looked great back in the day, along with the headset. That's a fantastic build, and congratulations on having the patience to hoard all that kit for so long.

You might be right about the levers - I live in France and spend a lot of time looking for some Mavic brake levers to complete a groupset I have on a road bike. Haven't seen any yet, other than a NOS pair on US eBay at $300. I've got that in my favourites just to shake a fist at it when I'm drunk.

Lovely bike.

I was so lucky as to aquire some Mavic brake levers for my Alan cross bike last week. It's all coming together at the moment!

Now just need some old-school SSC brakes/levers and headset for the Brouwer.... And a 27.0 seatpost. Then I'll have Full Mavic MTB, road and cross. OCD? Me?

Don't think the 25,0 seatpost for the Alan will ever materialise.
