Owned this from new, still my pride and joy.

After a 1990 Palisades, then a 1991 Eldridge I decided I needed the ultimate Marin at the time.

Bought it as a frame only, then bought it bit by bit. It was wrapped up in a blanket under my bed, until pay day, then another part was bolted on.
Dont remember how long it actually took!! I was only about 17 at the time.
I still have the original sales invoice. It was bought from Cycle Care in High Wycombe, on the 4th April 1992.

It has been through a few spec changes over the years, and will try to highlight the changes where i can.

However, the bike is still mostly original from BITD. The rear wheel had to be replaced, along with chain, cassette and new cables and stickers.

Looking at the bike now, the blue spider and chainrings are too much.
Could also do with a shorter stem. That's about the only things i would change. But that's how it was, so that's how it will stay.

Nice! I especially like that you have had it so long and been tinkering away
at it all theses years. Iv been doing the same with mine since 1998-99,a sunn exact Ti so I can understand the 'pride and joy' bit...

Very nice. Must have cost a bomb back then, my 1993 Pine Mountain cost around £780 back then!

Bottle cage needs to be moved to the down tube and the Marin decal is too far down it....

Chainrings are ott but the spider is fine

the marin decal is in the right place. i measured the spacing before i removed the rest of the original ones.
the earlier ones were nearer towards the headtube, but the later ones were in the middle of the tube.
