I have been trolling local classified for Aliens for several years. Finally I land one. I love local internet classified ads. Just picked up a 1992 Alien from the original owner for $50 8)

Mechanically the frame and drive train are in very good condition. Frame even has the original bar code sticker on the underside of the down tube. THis bike was not ridden much. My guess is the brake pads, chain, chainrings, cassette are original. Has several paint scratches from storage and does not have the original rigid fork. Has the original 130mm spaced rear hub. Drive train is DX 8) I think the seat complete with peeling cover might also be original.

ET has found his home!

wow, what a price, that's awesome.

Great base for a retro resto. Are you going to keep it as is, albeit a tidy up? or are you going to go to town on a refurb?

I would like to bring it back to its original luster. I have a painter, so that part is within reach. Anyone know of a source for decals in silver like the originals? The decals are cracked probably from sun exposure.

Finally put a little time into the new Alien and cleaned it up a bit. Will be looking for a different fork. Also going to put 7-speed thumb shifters on it. A Scott AT4 might end up on her too. One more surprise popped up. The Specialzed Hard Rocker tires are in pretty good condition. Already put 40 mountain bike miles on one. 8)
