Picked this up recently:

Image

Looks like its been upgraded over the years, or the UK spec differed to the catalogue on this site: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/d/6 ... a61816007b The Matrix (made in the USA) rims I'm thinking are original, but the XT components maybe not.

Frame: GT Karakoram Tange Double Butted Inferno Paint (18" I think)
Fork: Correct GT Spinner in alternate colourway

Headset: 1 1/8"
Stem: Girvin Flexstem
Handlebar: Tioga polished flat
Grips: Tioga Bio Grip

Brakes: Deore DX Cantilever front and U brake rear
Brake Pads: Koolstop front

Brake & Shifter Levers: El Cheapo Shimano

Front Derailleur: XT M735
Rear Derailleur: XT M735

Cassette: Shimano 7 speed
Chain: SACHS
Cranks: Shimano Deore LX
Chainrings: LX and Pace middle
Bottom Bracket: Who knows, probably siezed
Pedals: Nasty Plastc

Hub Skewers: Shimano
Rims: Matrix (USA) Singletrack ATB comp with slightly concave sidewalls
Hubs: Shimano Deore DX
Tyres: Matrix rear, Rubena smoke copy front

Saddle: Mongoose
Seatpost: Alloy
Seatpost Binder: Original GT All Terra

This has been well maintained, alas its going to donate most of its drivetrain to other projects as the frame is a bit small. Its a fantastic blast from the past though and rode great to the shops today.

Looks like "Matrix" was Trek's own brand for components (before they badged them Bontrager), so these won't be the original rims.

Looks like this is a Bitsa bike with few original components! At least I wont feel bad breaking it up.
