Nice to see a different brand on here - is Balance the Australian Raleigh/Dawes?

Looks tidy - the sort of bike that lots of us started out on.

Any welcome to the site.

Fairly sure they were a USA company? Taxing the memory.

Very rare to see nowadays, as most of them broke in half if used off road. All the same, they were very light, harsh, stiff and fast feeling frames and the fade trans paint was neat. Cool to see one thats survived.

A mate had one with the blue manitou Mach 5, LX/XT gear and answer finishing kit, I remember it being very rapid point to point and extremely light.

The Balance was a American Brand.

Dont see too many around at all now.....

I had a mate one back in the 90's with Manitou Forks/LX running gear as well.

After a bit more work I have nearly finalised the Balance.

Just need a LX Crankset.

Very nice. I almost bought one of these beck then, but went for a lava dome instead.

To be honest, i actualy thought it looked better with the rigid forks, but it might just be the angle and light of the first picture. Good looking bike either way. :)
