Hi all!
This is the post of my presentation

I bought a Santa Cruz Heckler frame, and I want to disassemble
it to lubricate, clean everything right.

The problem is I'm not sure how the rocker is removed.

Someone could explain the removal process?

You need to loosen the Allen key bolts on the swingarm And on the shock mounts

Then once you've done that grab two sockets the same size as the nuts and gently crack them

Once one nut is removed you gently drift the axle through and the swingarm will come loose

My doubt is that once a nut is removed, the axis with two threads are not easily removed.

You need to hit with a sledgehammer of nylon?
It is important to get the axis in a particular direction?

My Bullit uses the same system and it should push out by hand

Go gently with a rubber mallet and you'll be fine

looks more like a 2000 model to me, the serial number(s) of the frame and swingarm will tell all. they come apart very easily.

Nah, definitely an early one -- main pivot braced across to seat tube and early dropouts.

The frame is 96 and the swingarm 97.

I was able to disassemble the frame.

Now this nice and clean

Thanks

my bad, too busy reading on an iphone to get he detail. all i saw was the disc mount.

now on the big 'puter all i can see is the disc mount............

Where on the frame are production years stamped? I can't see any numbers on mine :/

also, what's the deal with the rear brake? On my frame it looks like the rear-most cable guide takes outer cable from the front end but feeds inner cable only to the v-brake noodle
I was thinking about getting one of those little rubber things you usually find on rear mechs and putting that just behind the cable guide?
