Bought this before I had a car. I Finally finished it with a LX front derailer, some avid V-brakes, and a $6 aheadlite KORE stem...maybe some rims are needed. Took it to Slickrock Trail, never had to get off going downhill, it still works. Had to deal with a lot of mockery from the $3,000 dual suspension club.
