Recieved this today, its in a hell of a mess and it rides like sh*t

Must be a cross over year 91/92 as it takes a 27.2mm seatpost but has the bulges on the downtube around the bottle bolts, its a size small 19".

Quite a rare colour, in black with a tint of purple, but i think i might change it, have an MC1 and unicrown fork to make it look more Klein ;)

Had to strip is straight away as i couldn't look at it in this sorry state.

I'm already liking it better than any other Klein I've seen so far. Maybe it's because it doesn't have those ugly forks you see on most Kleins.
All it needs is a different headset (something more square or inside the headtube itself) and some spacers that keep the fork from extending completely. 2" will do the trick.

Paintjob's name is 'Pearl Black'. A really nice colour from 1992 (not listed in any catalogs).
All Adroits up till autumn 1995 have bulges around water bottle cages, also the 1991 ones. The first ones from 1991 have 27.2mm seatposts but I've only seen one with a boxed fork.

why am i thinking 91 Adroits don't have bulges :?

in 2 minds on the colour choice, keep it original or go for something else, one thing i'm certain of is a makeover in the Cambridgeshire factory ;)

Looking good James, good luck with build, I must find time and get on with my builds.

Too bad it doesn't have the original rigid forks

And i'm not even going to try and find a Strata, luckily i have the next best thing, the ugly Klein fork as Raging_Bulls put it

Nice bright Backfire!, would be abit of a Picasso if you just put the parts on as they are without any paint!
