Nearly there, just waiting for some springs for the forks to get this puppy finished. Have stripped down the forks and given them a thorough clean and lube. The rest of the kit is tried and tested stuff, XT M737/739 drivetrain. The cantis are Suntour XC Pedersons which work very well.

This was never intended to be boutique build, I have used bits I already had with the minimal of outlay. It's going to be fine ride.

I really like it! Wouldn't mind it in my shed!

I'd ride it on the trails tho, seems a shame not to :D

Very nice Chris 8)

Looks a bit better than a Rat Ride though :)

Hope to see you both out on the trails soon.

This is the finished build for now. May do something about getting the frame painted / powder coated / polished & lacquered sometime in the future. It is a fantastic ride. Gave this its first proper ride today. Flipping brilliant! Love the forks! Took it down The Beast at Thetford today, following a guy on zillion inch travel full-sus Intense. Got to the bottom and shouted, "60mm travel, it's the future!"

Really nice 8)

Years ago, I nearly bought one of these frames, but got waylaid by an rc200 at the last minute.

That frame screams for a restauration.
..during my first years of riding, I was lucky enough to live close to the rise of the PARKPRE generation. Our national bike magazines were filed with ads and reviews. One brands had soul and colour!!
One of my friends had 3 or 4, a alu team, comp and others i cant recall. Shame he sold all of them...
Theres still somethings I remember like and ad with "pistol pete" and those colourfull yellow jerseys.
This to say that it brings sweet memories of those golden days, so i kinda envy you for having such an icon of those times.

EDIT, i found the ad :

Very nice. Brings back memories of the Pro Image I had, although mine was a teeny tiny 15" one with Quasar forks 8)

If I'd realised how supposedly rare they would become, I'd have kept mine, and probably bought a load more frames from my LBS who was a Parkpre stockist! (Elan Cyclery, Rhayader in case you're interested ;)).
