Saw that on eBay, just couldn't get past the dodgy 'TREK' on the main frame. Please tell me it's just a vinyl sticker and is easily removed.

Nice rocket boy stickers, a rocket boy saddle would look good on that.

Trek

Hi all

Yes, waited till the end of the auction and contacted the seller direct and got it for less.....

BG....yes these are vinyl stickers and they are coming off....I'll get some new ones made up and positioned correctly....

Have a Rocket Boy Saddle on the way as well.....

Good stuff. I think technically you've got a '97 frame (from the shape of the pivot gussets on the rear triangle - have a look at this thread where there is a comparison: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=169613) when they'd moved to the new style logo, but i'd definitely back date it to '96 or 95' graphics. A Judy SL would look good.

The '96 Y-22 is my fave - there's been a couple of really nice Y bikes on here recently. Also check out this site: http://cool386.tripod.com/trek/trek.htm

I have a '98 Y-33 frame literally hanging on the wall in the garage waiting for me to do something with. It hasn't got quite as nice lines to it as the earlier frames, but it has a much stronger mount for the shock on the main frame, and longer 'genesis' style geometry which makes it really nice to ride.

Trek Y - New Project

BG: The rear was replaced by Trek with a new swingarm so yes, its defiantly 97 onwards, the main frame though is either a 95/96 Y22 as far as I can see from catalogues etc...

A really good source of info can be found at:

http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/trekybikes/

You need to join but then you get access to full specs and manuals.

Started piecing it together and this is how it looks so far......
