I took possession of Si's MI-80 earlier this year, with the idea of building it up with Mavic MTB and Campag parts.

Still short of a few parts so while waiting for the elusive rims, chainset and brake levers I've built it up with the M-735 I took off my Karakoram which I built up as a bike for my sister so she could go riding with my twin nephews who got my sons' outgrown Fisher and Specialized 20" wheel MTBs.

Finally got a suitable saddle and tyres to photograph it - but it's already done a few trips with other kit....

Really it's built up with no-nonsense parts that reflect what I used to ride for most of the mid-90s until I started working in bike shops.

Specs so far:
headset,thumbshifters, cassette, brakes/levers,cranks,rear mech: M732-5 XT
Rims Campag Atek
Hubs M730 XT with 8-speed modification. 135 mm axle really not right for this frame but I have the Mavic hubs for the real build....
Chainrings: Pace 44/35/28
Pedals: Original SPDs in XT version. Forget model no.
Crank bolts: old Shimano deore self-extracters.
Tyres: Ritchey Z.max folders 1.9
Saddle 1990 Rolls
Seatpost/stem: nothing fancy - the Kalloys that go with the frame.
Seatpost QR: Marin Lite XT copy.
BB: UN73 122mm
Front Mech: LX
Bars:Look
Chain:Sedis silver

In my usual style - weight reductions were considered irrelevant. So it's a fairly hefty (for a fully-rigid bike) 26.5 lbs.
