time to introduce myself properly:

i'm Danny, age 37, and started riding at age 17 on scott boulder. soon after that i got in racing, first xc but later dh and dual slalom, at some stage i got even a sponsorship from my lbc. I got a pinnacle in backfire colors, but it broke during a race, later i got a black fervor, but i missed the nice colors (fluo was out by then, guess i was allready retro back then)

recently i bought one of the best looking bikes ever: a manitou fs

framenumber fs 0009, so prety early and in mint and uncracked condition.

it needs a new set of springs and the wheels are recent.

what rims where bitd the rims to have? i use mavic d52* but i think they are to young for a period correct build? i've got 1 mavic m321(?) and a ritchy rock pro, but iirc the mavics bended like butter under my riding

grtz,
Danny

Stunning very nice , looks great with the purple

Very nice! They were really clean looking bikes, absolute classics.

Welcome to the site, that's a good start!

thanks!

more purple? i've got a purple ringle hub and ti skewer, but a part of the hub flange broke off; i wonder if i could weld it up?

grtz, Danny

That looks very nice :D I like that.
I hope that you can fix the rear suspension. Must be an awesome bike.
Enjoy :!:

i think the mavic 261 and 281 were the burly rim of choice back in the early 90s
