Old School Hero
Just stripped this down yesterday and gave it a quick polish with some Peek (discovered yesterday courtesy of Tc's thread). Still need to lift a few more scratches though with something a bit stronger...was thinking of a micromesh (12'000 gauge), any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I have been gathering a few components recently and have broken down another bike as it is the donor of a Chris King headset (yet to be fitted).

I need to have a bolt removed from one of the water bottle bosses which has snapped (it has been stuck in there broken since I purchased it from Re-Cycle based in South London in about 1999/2000), think I need a specialists help here!

Gil is helping me with some decals, not 97 but nearer to when I first started hankering after Zaskar's....in fact not just Zaskar's, numerous of the GT range were regularly pawed over at my LBS!

Will keep updates coming as it develops :D

Very nice. Just built one up in single speed mode but think mine is a early 1997 as has the canti guide. Yours is more likely a later 97 as no canti guide on the seattube.

They are very nice frames as you are no doubt aware!

What are the plans for the rest of it?

Nice

Looking great so far & nice polishing job!
Will be watching this one as just finished my Z LE!

Many thanks for positive comments so far, not quite sure how it will pan out as it is going to be a mix of various years.

A couple of components specifically purchased for the build are Race Face Turbine cranks with Middleburn rings and a Flite Titanium saddle.

Still on the lookout for a suitable stem, hoping to pick up a mint black Ringle Zooka.

A couple of you have mentioned that it is an LE, what are the differences between the standard Zaskar and the LE please?
