picked up this sad rattle-canned specimen. overall i think it's in structurally good condition with no dents or cracks i can find. however, i'll need to strip the paint off to really get a good look.

seems there are missing cable stops for both the front and rear derailleur. :( am i just missing a cable guide on the BB shell? prev owner said he had used it SS.

believe the post size is 26.8mm. haven't had a chance to pull out the BB, hopefully won't prove difficult. has a decent 1-1/4" XTR headset and CT stem. Some blue Azonic risers.

Anyone can identify what forks is on it?

Wow! Well first off congrats for saving it..... Looks like it's gonna be a fair bit of work but sure it's going to turn out fantastic... Look forward to seeing it progress

At first I thought the fork was an old Fisher unit but I checked some photos of my '91 Montare e-stay & they look totally different. :?

I really like the look of a curved unicrown on Funk frames. They just seem to fit with the styling of the frame.

My Funk (with alloy Softride (ironic seeing as it's so stiff...) unicrown):

Nice ride Arran. Think this one will turn out quite similar in looks once the paint is removed and polished.

Believe what i have is similar to this 91, as it has what looks to be bolt on cable stops for the rear mech. However, i see no signs of holes for cable stop and pulley for the front mech. perhaps after the paint is stripped off i'll find signs that they got filled in??? :?

mine is an early 1, 1990. what you have there looks very similar. the front mech outer goes down to the mech & the inner in bolted to the bb shell. i'll try to get some pics for you.

Here is a shot of another one sold recently that appears to have no front cable stop (either screw in 91/92 or welded on 92-).
