JT's GT fetish... (RTS, Tequesta & ZR2000)

Hi all, always been a GT fan since I rode a '95 GT Team Scream Tequesta when I was a kid. That was stolen when I turned 17 and I ended up getting a car and therefore fat! When I turned 24 I bought an '05 GT Ruckus 1.0 but that didn't get much use at all.

I sold it and got a nice cheque off Scottish Power for paying them too much, so I used the money to buy my all time dream bike frame and start building it into my fave bike a '9*? GT RTS, refurbished with Noleen piggyback shock.

So far I've fitted Pace RC36 Racing Evo forks, Thomson stem, Raceface low riser bars, LX hubs/Mavic 517 rims, and M739 XT shifters, v brakes, front and rear mechs, chainset and un54 bb.

Still need Thomson seatpost, seat & clamp, chain, aheadset, cables and because of an issue with m739 front mech and shocker position I need an m738 front mech. The Pace forks are going to Fork English to be serviced also soon.

Next I bought my '02 GT ZR2000 road bike to shift my beer belly, I used this for the Manchester to Blackpool charity ride a couple of weeks ago. I was heading for a 4hr hour time for the 62 miles but got major cramps after THE hill at 50 miles. Ended up finishing in 4hr 22 mins. Priced at 1740 dollars new I got it for a steal.

Then after seeing this on ebay I realised I just had to have it, so many memories of winning my first, last and only xc race at the age of 16. Bought for a steal, this near enough completely original '95 GT Team Scream Tequesta with full STX groupset. Had to straighten the wheels and need to replace the shifters as they're quite worn, there are a few scratches but it's in awesome nick.

Cheers for letting me know, wasn't sure but I thought it may have been a '95

As it's a nice evening, I'm not working overtime and I don't have my son tonight, I'm gonna take the Tequesta out for ride out. Still haven't replaced the worn shifters as yet but should be fun... ttfn.

Everybody wants a Tequesta, but not all are worthy...... ;-)

Bit of an update, had a good ride out on the Tequesta the other week but it def needs a new rim on the back and shifters. Other than that it was mint.

I've also pretty much finished my dream RTS (although I'm using the seat and seatpost off the Tequesta for now) just tried riding it and realised the middle chainring needs replacing as it's well and truely worn. Still on the search for parts then
