finally got hold of one ......................

an original 91 YO , all good regards seat tube/rust , needs a repaint , and i think i know what i want :roll:

going to be full xt on this one i think

spent an hour or so cleaning up the fork this morning , just need to do the frame , may be a while before it goes of for paint

few parts added for effect ...............

...and, what paint will you go for ?? :)

Good luck with the project. Looking forward to the result. Any effort going in it is worth it. They are great chassis.

Ditto on that, never ridden a Fat either, but they look so right!

Is there any truth that steel frames loose their ping after a certain period?

That is what the lbs wanted you to believe in the past, before the industry made bikes disposibles (so you have to buy new anyway) and when there was less innovation

Great you can get the frame and forks done at the same time too for a perfect match 8)
