Just aquired this baby for a song, can't figure out what titanium stem this is though...Any idea guys?

Don't know about the stem, but that is a good bike.

..and I would like it even more with the original brakes.

apart from the bar clamp it looks a lot like the GT "tech shop" stem from 93 or so

I now see it is a wedge clamp stem on an alu adapter. Maybe it would be better to give this bike a better matching (incl safer) stem choice ...and put this stem on a high profile bike which has really an ahead system.

Zoom stems tended to be that slightly tapered shape, I'd go with a Zoom ahead too.
