Kona Ku 1997

Old School Hero
last weekend i've finished my KONA KU rebuild project.

the frame i've got from a swiss seller for a very "nice price".
his wife has ridden the bike... mostly carefully it seems.
it's a 97 model, has some patina, altogether nothing alarming.

i've added a marzocchi bomber, some race face parts, a shimano xt group, magura rim brakes and a mavic crossmax wheelset.

overall the bike looks a little bit modern, but believe it or not, it's time correct... ;)

btw, the first ride was absolutly stunning!

Nice frame, but I'm struggling with the colour combination! I think I'd be tempted to get the fork painted in the frame colour, or else fit a 1998 blue SID. The Z2 is also a 98 model incidentally.

very nice and quite rare, what size is it - 16" ?

agree with Anthony on the colourscheme - one member from here does the fork (RS Judy) of his Saracen in the same colour as the frame (plum) which look ace.

the routing for the rear magura on the zip's, will it stays, or are you thinking of using Magura cable routings ?

So I have good news! ;)
I intend to replace the forks soon.
I have a Manitou FS TI Palmer edition, it has a green colour too, but not metallic paint.
It fits better still. As you see I really like the combination of violet and green...

 ok, it's nearly time correct!

You're right. I'm looking strongly for a better solution.
I have the cable routings, so I will try it in the next days.

Sweet looking frame in that size and a really nice colour
Always liked the Palmer Manitous ("Strokers"?) and they'll look great on this!
