Blue is fine too. Definitely.
Very old Crescents were even yellow (lower picture):
A period of 100 consecutive years of bicycle buildings
Crescent have a blue periods too.
lower picture: Swedish made blue Crescent:
Merckx made "fake" blue Crescent:
Sister model Monark (same frame 1963-1985) was often blue.
Gulf colours... they were light blue and >orange< ?
You can always mark and highlite Nervex (or Dubois) lugs
with a thin orange/red line ? This marking presents more
- accentuate and emphasize - this art of metal working...
Of course: Pure monochrome colour is clear, distinct and stylish.
Both are excellent choise.
Btw: I find good (read: cheap) solution for old full dead
french bottom bracket situation:
Picture of bottom bracket cups is side 4:
They were friendly, answer fast, and most important, they
use 3. side payment intermediation.
Feels better to give credit card number in some banking style institution with
secure shell connections, than give it some small company.
One Christmas Story bonus was, that They (guy named Will) sends cups and tools
very small but thick paper packet. (because: Royal AirMail here)
That small paper packet was empty Laura Biagiotti " Roma " perfume shell. (box)
My wife use that parfum, when we 16 years ago meet....
Now, I sit my own garage, my bicycle is on new maintenance rack (stand?),
and I sniff that shiny well made cups and tools.
The Smell is still (after 16 years) ... stunning...
Life is not bad at all.
And I am happy man. I know.
What You need more (with pair of cups and 2 tools) is Shimano BB-UN-72
(for example) bottom bracket cartridge. UN-72 has > removable cups <
and You can use it with Phil Woods lock cups. Fit is easy and You can hone
cartridge with by hands, difference is about <0,01 mm. Really.
Cartridge inside of cups is allways a same, You can choice italian or ISO
model. Only axel length must choose. (right it is about both side of 113 mm)
And: remember: cups are stainless steel and frame is cromo. Bottom bracket
lug is maybe manganese steel. = They are different metal. => Use always:
Aluminium grease between surfaces (NOT copper because point corrosion) or use
thin teflon water pipe tape (0,02 mm) with installation.
Happy riding and new year
