Thankyou for the welcome

Now if someone had a nice retro Scott fame with a 1 1/8th headstock for little money I would bite their hand off but alas they are far and few between. :roll:

And don't worry I expected a few disagrements over what is essentially a very cheap bike.

I just spent £4 on it though :? on new brake pads

And yes I saw that offer but it's nowhere near me and I can't collect anything bigger than a single pair of forks.

fwiw i think your cobra and your reasons for buying it are fine
far better for scooting round town than a "fixie" imho

Also yep there's a massive hill between me and town, I needed gears although my fittness should improve very quickly pedaling this up the hill its like a boat anchor
