84 Ross Mt. Rainier

Found this on CL, minus the wheels and pedals. I think it shares the same frame with the Mt Whitney(lacking chrome obviously). It is a solid bike. I received it in this form.

This is after a service and cleanup.

Nice find man, there not many around here!! Seems to be in a pretty good shape!

Thanks.

Yeah, I haven't seen a Mt Rainier before, but have seen a few Whitneys and Mt Hoods on line. It rides great, and feels pretty stout. I think Ross built some decent bikes back in the day, but those were overshadowed by all of their dept store low end stuff. I did read some good things about the Ross Indians MTB race team from the 80s.

This bike has been pretty well taken care of by the original owner. A few scratches here and there, with most of them already touched up by the PO. The worst rash is from a kickstand that was gone before I got it. I would like to find a set of original pedals for it, or the beartraps that came on the Mt Whitney. I also would like a set of the Black anodized fat rims for it... should I ever come across some.
