I stumbled across a magnesium frame on ebay made by Litech, got me thinking on a magnesium frame.
Anyway after a bit of a search around google i came up with these Kirk Revolution frames, i read about it being ahead of its time, each frame individually crack tested/inspected etc etc so i looked on ebay.
Well here's one, not one i'm gonna go for but i am waiting back for a measurement on one selling on ebay, but my question is why do these bikes seem to be kitted out with the cheapest components and uncared for by the owners? Are they rubbish? Are they worth driving 320miles round trip to pick one up if i got it for £50?

Here's a link to one built up(like i said, cheap conponents!) on ebay.

I thought i might as well edit my post and put a link to the one i was thinking of bidding on!

I have never owned one, but I understand they have a nasty habit of bits dropping off them. They pop up fairly frequently, certainly not what I would define as a rare bike. I think the look of the bike doesn't help their popularity.

As for the kit level, I have no answer but I believe they were available as a range starting with Altus and going up to DX. So perhaps it was always intended to be a low to mid range bike, and that is reflected in the frame.

Ahh, ok, thanks for the link, very interesting to read but pretty much put me off goiing for one now! I'd never heard of Kirk so from the surface searching google etc they looked very interesting but probably worth saving my time and money for better things!
