1991 Marin Team Marin

It's been a little while since I updated this, so here's a quick progress update.

Firstly I was unable to satisfactorily tidy up the original zolatone paint work, it was badly faded, there were lots of chips and some quite large rust spots. So for better or worse I opted to get it sandblasted and powder coated.

I opted for RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey. I also ordered some reproduction decals from Gil - so there's a nod to the original colour scheme.

I think I got the decals in the right place and I'm pretty happy with the results.

Next job is to clean up some parts - Crankset, Brakes, Shifters and Wheels.

Re: decals

Can I ask where you got the Decals?? I’ve got a 1990 Eldridge grade that I’m about to get stripped and repainted. Cheers Brad

Here's a quick update. She's coming together now. I've just got to fit cables, a front mech and the chain.

Given this months BOTM I almost tried drop bars but I decided against it in the end  .

Lovely!

The ubiquitous RAL 7016 goes well with the hot pink decals.

Get some lighter tyres with supple sidewalls on there though!
