Re: Look what the cat dragged in................... a ‘96 Y-TREK

TBH I've never been a fan of Tri Spokes but I can see where your going with this and they will nicely tie in with the iconic frame design.

Are you not concerned its going to look like a 1990's version of a new bike .... DRAB all one colour - although technically black isn't a TRUE colour - its an absence of light

Hello Spud, I know what you mean about the tri-spoke Spins, but this pair came along pretty cheap and I just thought if there’s one frame they might suit……… ;)

As for Henry Fords favorite colour…. Nahhh I’m not concerned in the slightest :D

Love the contrast of decals on the Spins

Ta…. Yes I’m pleased so far….. :D

Here’s a few “dressing-up” shots from this evening, chain length not chosen, Maggies not bolted on, cables not run etc etc… uh and the eagle-eyed might notice the odd 8mm bolts holding the Swiss shock in place, I’m waiting for the correct ones to arrive any day now….

Re:

That looks great with the spins. A word of caution though they look like the mk1’s which had a tendency for the hlue on the hubs to let go. Not particularly dangerous it just means you will be pedalling but not going anywhere.

Re: Look what the cat dragged in................... a ‘96 Y-TREK

Cheers Tim, I’ll make sure I’ll inspect them regularly..

Cables sorted, chain fitted, indexing sorted, Mags sorted... just need the M8 bolts for the Swiss DT....

Re: Look what the cat dragged in................... a ‘96 Y-TREK

Ps.. for sharp eyed amongst you, yes the larger back plates for Magura brakes haven’t been fitted yet. They’re currently in an evaporust bath. I’m hoping to keep the original silver paint finish with perhaps a little touch up, just need to see how they fare in the morning before I decide wether or not to re-spray them.
