I’ve owned my 1995 GT from new but it was time for a strip down and rebuild. I’ve always kept it as original as possible and the only non-original parts on it were the tyres, pedals and the bar ends (although they were added in 1996).

If I’d known about this great forum earlier I would have taken some proper pics of the rebuild.

Have always loved the paint job on this but it limited the renovation as the decals just aren’t available.

Frame: GT Tequesta in ‘Team Scream’ colours
Forks: GT Cro Mo
Headset: Tioga Alchemy
Stem: GT Chromoly
Bars: GT Alloy
Shifters: STX Rapidfire Plus
Groupset: Shimano STX MC-32
Chain: IG50
Seatpost: Original (GT?)
Saddle: Vetta TT Tri-shock
Rims: Mavic 236

File comment: Stem, headset and saddle all requiring cleaning - some parts laid out carefully in correct order for putting back together (it was the first time I’d taken a bike apart to this level!)

File comment: Frame already touched up and stem and bars sprayed satin black - a slight departure from the original gloss finish which was badly scratched.

File comment: GT logo beneath the grips restored. New transparent grips on the way but not GTs so not sure whether to put them on - thoughts guys?

File comment: End result (although if I can get a decent condition Vetta TT Trishock that will be replaced).
