Project Kona ....

Brilliant post, thank you! Reckon i'll have a go. At least i'll know myself that any corrosion has been attended to.

Just a couple more: did you sand back the grey before clear-coat, and did you re coat the grey while the previous coat was still tacky?

Go for it ..

In answer to your questions

There was a couple of spots where debris had attached to the grey which I flatted before applying clear....But not the whole frame. But that is an option.

I think I waited about 15 minutes between coats. It all depends on the temperature.
Good luck with your projects ;-)

Re:

So this afternoon i grew a pair and tackled the decals :?
Ive been putting this off for a couple of years (really)

so far this has been the only part i havent enjoyed doing.

watched a couple of Youtube vids and and got stuck in.

Im not hundred percent happy with the results but considering ive never applied decals before ..i guess it could have been worse :)

as you can see, ive used Kona Custom decals in place of the "race light" decal... cause it aint race light spec but it sure is "custom"
Also you'll notice for now, i havent applied the Cinder Cone decal on the top tube mainly because i think that area around the front end may become cluttered with a clash of fonts from the headset, stem and original Kona head badge a frame decals but also because its no longer a Cinder Cone... Hope you approve so far

Bravo!

Super thread and paint job.

Looking forward to seeing it built up.

Cheers prezza.. but don't hold your breath... this is a (very) slow burn build
