1994(?) Orange P7 - build in progress

Have had this frame sitting around in the shed for a few years now. Finally got round to start the build at the beginning of the year from bits in my shed and bits bought from here or EBay. It's starting to come together now, so thought it would be worth sticking the pics up.

Think this is a 94 frame, but again, not 100% sure and I can't make out the serial number that well.

Mixture of STX, XT & XTR components.

That could end up being well nice..
What’s deal with paint scheme? Did u do it before build? Can’t remember this ever being stock colour?

Thanks - I swapped this for another, larger P7 frame (in the classic orange colour) with an old work colleague. It was this colour when I got it, and was this colour when he got it as well. He'd never got round to building it up.

I guessed it had been re-sprayed at some point - and I think this is why I can't make out the serial number. Its been this way for some time, given the condition of the paintwork (marked but good enough to keep).

I like it though - nice blue fade to white. It's nearly finished but I need to service the front hub, which I hate doing. Might have a go at it tomorrow.

Got this finished a copuple of weeks ago, but only just got round to tidying some bits up. Thought I'd post some updated photos:

Still need to shorten the gear cables.

Rides very well - its actually a little too small for me, but have taken it for a couple of spins down to the shop and its really nice to throw around.
