Two months ago this Stumpjumper showed up on a local classified site. It is unique in that it is pretty much mint and all original. The asking was acceptable, so I went for it. The first owner was happy the bike found a good home.

I am now halfway with the build. I will choose for a blend of original and upgrades. Some colour will be added.

Yep. That bike looks fantastic. Paintwork still looks great. 8) A very lucky find.

Some original parts made place for upgrades, like the Race Face EX 4130 stem and NC-17 Empire Pro post. Other personal touches are turquoise accents (Chill Pills, bolts, cable ends) and goldish brake boosters.

The Rock Shox MAG21 works flawlessly. A regular suspension pump with football needle is what is needed for inflating the MAG21.

Race Face EX 4130 ahead stem with intresting clamping system. With the bolt on top you lock the stem, with the ring you set the headset pressure.

Wow! mate, that is really time warp gorgeous. :)
That paint is still so deep and lustrous looking and the upgrades you've given are very subtle and well in keeping with such a nice ride.
Great find.

That's a beautiful bike! The colour still looks brand new and your upgrades suit it perfectly.

"Designed in California, Handmade in Japan". The frame uses DirectDrive Prestige tubing. The catalog mentions 2kg for the frame.
