I've just picked up a lovely original Diamond Back EX circa 1991.
When i've figured out how to miniturise some pictures i'll post them up.

Here's a few pics
Everything is original as far as I can see.
Be nice to get some original toeclips to finish it off

Cool. Certainly mostly original.
I may be wrong but I think it's a 92, The EX had the 91 style frame geometry & paint, wheras in 92 most of the other models went to a sloping top tube.

It doesn't have a sloping top tube.
Having referred to the 1991 catalogue on here i am confident its a 1991 model.
I'm yet to find anything that isn't original on it....apart from the lack of toeclips and the rear innertube which needed changing, if you have spotted anything let me know as its so close to spot on it would be nice to make it so.

As I stated, your Ascent EX has a 91 style level top tube.

See your bike here in the 92 catalogue where most of the range have sloping top tubes:

I had an Apex back in 92, I knew that catalogue inside out, word for word. Not wanting to presume, but the Ascent EX made use of leftover frames from 91, even the style of paint splatter effect is akin to the 91 model range.

Re:

That's lovely, I had a very similar conditioned one in the smoke finish. Still kicking myself now for selling it
