Two minds, which to go for
Option 1. Spray it black myself, and this would be much cheaper option, or option 2 send it off to have a orange white fade respray.. undecided, depends on funds after xmas partly, what do you reckon?

Orange and White BTW..... ;)

My 17" Orange and White fade from ages ago. Frame# 20... Originally was Matt Silver.
Fade done with an Airbrush. Decals were Lacquered over top. Can't find the pic with Black Chain rings and White Syncros stem/bars.... fond memories but was sold a long time before the Kids arrived to fund a house move!

Looks fab Ben, the above, even donning a cool orange Ti saddle.
Orange white fade it is then.
The frame I intend using for this project, was originally the orange white fade, not black as it is now, had to be resprayed by Orange back in the day, I believe they had to respray a batch of them, according to some on here. so it only seems appropriate to go back to its routes!
As for the stalk/handlebars I have in white, your very welcome to borrow them for a photo shoot, no problem at all, the only unfortunate thing about them is that they were cut to 50cm in width, when it was fashionable in the 90's, but still look the biz, and obviously extremely rare, so they got to go on a build!

Cheers Calum, thanks for the offer. After a think...
i) They would be the wrong colour
- mine were Satin black. White will suit the Orange white fade far better.
ii) Definitely too short.
- I resisted cutting mine down BITD as they were so expensive and if I'd messed it up I'd have to get a stem too!

They'll look ace on an Orange white fade. Any closer to scoring one?

As for mine.....
Some Progress, but not past the finishing line yet! - Was hoping to be finished this week but work / children commitments look like getting in the way....
Nearly at 50% of this years planned builds!

Cheers.

Almost there by the looks of it, nice clean build, Syncros certainly adds a bit of understated class.
No joy in regards to an orange white fade o frame or bike, so it's looking likely to be a respray job I reckon! But you never know. Yes the bars will be stealth like, being so short! Still its got be included in the build.
Will be after Xmas tho, xmas & kids are a busy time!

Hi All. :D

After several month, my rebuild is finally complete! Although it seems almost identical to it's last Incarnation, it's now completely rebuilt, painted stripped, powder coated with new decals, parts polished and new parts added to either improve quality or match the original spec. It's also been good to rebuild the bike that bought me here in the 1st place, especially seeing as it has had plenty of use since the original restoration back in 2008.

I was double tapping on the photos but no ‘like’ heart was appearing...
