Peugeot Control 500 (Columbus tubing) + Build Thread

Re:

New fangled Shimano stuff...... Urgh, but each to their own , porcs are nice Tho.
Just saying..... I have the same tubing on my custom Dave hinde frame so out cant be a bad frame fella.
Enjoy your build.

Cheers, and yeah I get that with he new stuff- which is why I ideally don’t want a new or new looking crankset, but that’s tough with a single. Unless you just hack an old triple (which can look odd).

Re: What is this? Peugeot Control Columbus tubing + Build Thread

I reckon I could be 85% of the way there now after a busy day. I’ve changed the idea on the front end as I’ve always had a thing for Ritchey gear - no doubt someone will point out they’re new ;)

Anyway I’m made up and it “rides” well - given that it’s a balance bike at present, as I don’t have the octalink tool or chain...

Re: What is this? Peugeot Control Columbus tubing + Build Thread

My build has now stalled because:
1. My 11 speed cassette won’t fit my 7 speed hub (exage), any ideas or do I just rebuild he wheel with a longer freehub?
2. Waiting for brake cables, now arrived.
3. Need shorter chainring bolts or would shims/washers be ok?
Thanks

Re: What is this? Peugeot Control Columbus tubing + Build Thread

And the crank fouls the frame so a longer B.B. is required - hmph

Stripped and rebuilt the DMR V12s, virtually no wear to the cro-mo shafts. Such a great design

I’m thinking of a Thomson silver seat post... or possibly an UNO white post.
Any thoughts?
