Black rims look spot on imo of course

+1 black rims, tyres or maybe sunset rims if you want that amazing evening light afterglow effect.

Thing is, quality Yo builds have been done a million times. Its hard to be original, best to just appreciate their amazing telepathic ride and the coolness that flows from them. Take it to a Hipster LBS hangout and watch as the bearded ones coo over it like a newborn, whilst sipping their ethically sourced Kopi Luwak.

Re:

With silver Bonty BCX / Weinman rims and tyres that are not volumous enough.... and a saddle with a bit too much downwards tilt!

I really don’t like the purple grafton crank caps so they will be removed next. Anyone want them let me know. Stupid Grafton price I’m afraid!

Re:

FAT history is interesting for a bike nerd. There are much copied designs and the sheer number of spin off companies, like Indi Fab, then derivative Firefly Bikes, who do some incredible in house designs and custom work. Firefly even hand lathe the butts on their Ti tubes as FAT City Cycles pioneered back in the early 90s. Im into all that sh1t and the stories of the crazy staff and good times. Anyway the OP has a great bike...enjoy :D

Re: Awesome Foursome Part 4 - Yo Eddy

Re:

Prefer 3DV on yellow or grey frames but it still looks good.

Re:

Thought I’d better post some pics of a dirty Fat.

Took it out this time last month for its first ride. It turned out to be a 4-hour / 70km blast linking my favourite local trails with some bridleways and road thrown in for good measure. I was expecting neck-and-shoulder ache from hell with the long and low front end but it was actually very comfy. I didn’t do any rad descending but it was fine on the single track and fast on the road - especially when hunkered down against the wind and rain on the return leg

Much has been said about the telepathic ride quality if these and I must agree. The only think that “spoilt” the ride was the sound of trees, rocks and chains hitting the beautiful paint.....

The only concession to modernity was tubeless Tyres on my go-to retro-ride Hope Wheels. That Mathauser brake blocks squealed like a banshee. Maybe just for the garage queen then.

Funnily enough, just before this ride, I was tempted by the £1 selling fees on eBay to list it at what I paid for it. I was feeling uneasy about how much money I had invested in it and also how I’d not yet “made it my own” with the build. I had an interested party straight away. I asked him to wait til after the ride. Then messaged him back to say it was staying.....

Enjoy the photos

Re:

In chronological order. It was much muddier than this early on, courtesy of the clay-soil around where I live. The wheels would not turn....
