Too close to ignore. 93 Bear Valley Gate 69er?

Re: Too close to ignore. 93 Bear Valley Gate

I think this is a 1 1/8 headset ????

I was just looking at the pics thinking it's a bit 'normal'.

Anybody ever done a hardtail 69er? Got some sh*tey 29" suntour forks in the shed somewhere.................

The voices are getting stronger............

I have some cable disc brakes spare. And some bits left over from Frank..................

It wouldn't be full THM mode, just a slight return. Think stealthy 69er.

Tis was saved (typo but i like it, very 70s!) from a franken bike 69er experience as my sus fork was too short in the steerer. So........

Turned out quite nice considering i haven't spent anything other than on the brake blocks.

Taking it up the passage it does need a new headset though. A little spin around the block but headset either weavy tight or scary loose.

Waddya think? very restrained for me.

Yes very nice, i like Marins as they are usually very light for steel frames but i tend to ride the smaller sizes, not sure with all that extra steel this will still feel light :)

Very nice. There’s Not many old Marins I can resist. Even if they’re crumbling away so you got a d3cent one here. Has this model got the ‘750g, fork? It’s amazing what a noticeable difference that makes.
