91 Zaskar build

How are you polishing. What products are working for you. Just about to start doing mine. I have a spare pair of black 3D forks if they are any use to you. They are in decent nick! Deffo the original on the 91 Zaskar (I have one).

3D forks would be great on this project. I'm in the U.S. so shipping would be expensive. Thanks anyway. There were some deep scratches so I started out by using my friends bench top mounted polishing wheel and went through the different polishes on the larger surfaces. That wheel was too big to get into the tight areas. He also has a pneumatic dremel type tool for his air compressor. That helped with the tighter areas. Then I went over the entire frame with autosol and hand polished. I have about 2 hours into that process. There are still some scratches that show through but it's a 27 year old frame with lots of miles on it. I'm not willing to spend the effort to make this one perfect. Besides, it is a handmade frame that wasn't perfect when it was sold.

Here are a couple of screenshots from Gil's facebook page. He clearly went above and beyond reasonable expectations to deliver customer service. His dedication is second to none. Always use Gil.

A couple more parts came. I hope to get the decals on this weekend and clear coat it.

Now you tell me? Too late. Oh well. Everyone said to clear coat it to hold the decals on better and stop the frame from oxidizing after I polished it. Actually there are a couple decals that I'm not happy with my placement. When it peels I will have an excuse to refinish it again and do a better job with the decals.

Re:

This is just stage one of the build. I'm still planning to use my rigid fork. I just need to paint it. I really don't like riding on a mag21.
