Re: 1992 Rocky Mountain titanium

I finally got around to stripping old decals and taking the frame to a do-it-yourself media blasting shop. Took about half an hour to even out the finish (previous frame owner had started polishing but never finished, so it was half shiny - half brushed). I used glass beads at a low air pressure.

The end was result was more matte than I wanted, so I spent another 45 minutes scrubbing the frame with a very fine steel wool to get a more brushed finish. Here is a picture half way through the process so you can see a before and after comparison:

Re: 1992 Rocky Mountain titanium

Got sooo close to finishing the bike the other night. Right down to the pedals. Tried to install the R pedal, only to discover the threads on the crank were cross threaded! Off to the bike shop down the street to tap the threads. Soon...
