The VOs were the only set of vee's I could find that would cope - let's reserve judgement til it's all wired up and working! Here's a pic of the VO/650b I took when trialling out stuff.

That looks neat. Could probably carefully file a little more slot in them if you need.

What kind of tyre clearance do you get? Enough for 47mm and guards?

These may be of use to people doing similar.

Hopefully frame, racks and bars back from the powder coaters this week. Ordered the 650b tyres and found the SunTour stash, so we're ready to build... Would really like to find some SL XP20s though.

Now painted, the build can begin... Whether it's rideable for the Peaks this weekend is another matter!

Progress report - in the LBS for headset and bottom bracket fitting. Lots of fitting/fettling/detailing remains now - racks to be aligned; Suntour MD front mech to be found/acquired; Suntour 8 speed version shifter to be found/acquired (7 speed fitted for now); lost one rear spring on the Velo Orange Zeste brakes - a spare is on its way from US of A; need a dynamo light too...
