A real beauty and a bike I'd love to own. I am very jealous ;)

:D Thanks, the feeling is mutual in regards to your bikes and current Yo build.

1993 Kona Kilauea won bike of the year. Kona sold out of their stock and had to release a 1993.5 model, mid season. I know this because I owned a metallic green '93.5 Kilauea, back in the day. Nice bike!

Well, been so busy but finally found time to put a chain on and adjust the cables :)
Still small jobs, tweaks, to do. The chain needs a link taking out, the only grips and saddle that arent on another bike, or reserved for another, ended up on for now. Finally got the Joes clips off, otherwise it would have platforms on now 🤦 Also noticed while taking pictures i have forgotten to put the bottle cage bolts back in
Oh well, at least its up and running again

Managed to get out today for a quick test ride

Easy trails with plenty of stops for photos :) loving it. Going to sort chain, change saddle, tyres and probably wheels, and put some wider bars on and it will be sorted for summer

Re:

Stick the tyres in the washing machine if you want them to look like new. Just don't tell the missus.

Got the Kilauea out today as planned on changing the levers and grips, ended up changing neither and went for a ride instead :) Not even sure if im going to change them now as i have started changing the spec anyway so might just leave them as is.

It was a great ride today, the bike climbs better and feels quicker than the modern prestige bike i have been riding. The bike is still as comfy as i remember and even with flat bars is still easy to hop over things, just seems so balanced. Reminded me why i love this bike so much.

Just a few little tweeks and must remember to swap pedals as the small ones without toe clips are sooo gripless. The ride today actually suited the thumbshifters too and i had no complaints and loved every minute :D

That's really nice. Reminds me of my brother's of the same vintage. He had mag 21's on it and ended up getting frame and fork resprayed a bright red... Awful.
I'd really like a '93 Kilauea tbh... Wonder if there's any 20" knocking around...? ;)
