Great find Retro Spud looks the real deal to my eyes and for free, happy days :D

cheers, it actually came from your neck of the woods, and would have ended up at this place

"Anyhoo it's free provide he's able to collect and soon if not it'll be going to Recykeyabike in Byker (where else!)"

^^ I take it thats somewhere near where Ant and Dec must have hung out

Byker Byker Grooove!!

Aye Bykers only a couple of miles from point pleasant industrial estate where it would've originally been made.
If it ends up back home again i might have a ride round Byker to see if i can spot it

Following... is it a DONKIS NOB?

I've no idea what model it is

Called my mate first thing this morning to make sure he took extra good care of it, and got this pic back of it in day light conditions outside one of his cattery pens where its now got board and lodgings,

the joins on the rear stays do look alot like Giom6's Vulcan posted on a previous page, and the rear brakes look to me a lot like SE Pederson / Suntour however rest of the kit is just tat of the lowest order

I guess the saddle was once a lovely bit of kit and one of the few bits of original kit left on it, but time hasn't been as kind to it as it has the paint.

Re: Dave Yates Barn find ?? .......or a turd wearing Pace forks

That is LUSH!

Can someone please educate me on those 'pinched' seat-stays? Was that a Yates trade-mark at some point?

Re:

Fun colours on that!

Nice find. It seems those old barns are pretty empty everywhere these days. Must feel nice to nab something like that!

Re:

What's the sticker on the drive side top tube?
Looks like 'PORK....'?
I thought might have been 'DON...'?!
But perhaps an aftermarket sticker like the specialised one.

Re:

As someone has pointed out via a PM

There's a piece of wood wedged in between the front mech and the frame

.....so classy, but proves its a rider
