Klein Rascal Gator 1993-finished

Re:

Have some black M734 cantis coming now as they will suit better than the 732s.

Rear wheel needs a different axle fitting as its current one is for a 130mm drop out width but wheels are cleaning up nicely so making steady progress.

Re:

I'm enjoying watching this build progressing. Beautiful Gator colouring on that frame.

Made some progress last night and today. Spent about 5 hours degreasing, T-cutting, clay baring and finally polishing the frame with great clean shiny results. Also swapped out the BB axle as it was 113 and I need a 125 for an XT crank, fitted new bearings too although old ones were fine but might as well.

Nice project... :D what type of crank was originally fitted on the bike?

Why didn't you do a Tinker's replica?
With 113 axle an Icarus crank would be perfect!

Re:

Thanks, I bought it as a frame so don't know what was fitted before, Tinker Rep interesting thought though.

Re:

Please keep with the updates. I've a 1993 in candy red I'm doing the same with. It's 100% original and looks to be a garage queen/wall hanger.

Getting warmer!
