I had one of these from 1992 until 1995 when it was stolen from me.

I have looked for another since but 49cm Dyna Tech's are rare enough without them being a Quantum. This turned up via the 80's & 90's Golden Era MTB page on FB (thanks Clive).

Now, this came to me in complete and original condition. Exactly as per the catalogue.

However the forks are in need of a lot of work, the lacquer is lifting and there appears to be oil under the lacquer. The stem is rusty, there are a few chips on the frame and the gel saddle has lost its gel!

The way I see it I have 4 choices.
1) Restore to catalogue spec.
2) Restore to exactly as it was on the day of the theft.
3) Something sympathetically between the first 2.
4) Build it up as I would have had I been able to.

Keep it stock.I had one before my Torus bitd,I want another one, they are a flawless ride.

If I do deviate in anyway from stock all the original parts will be cleaned up, restored in necessary and stored. I would always be able to put it back to factory spec.

:xmas-big-grin:

Re:

Seat post restored. Much more work than it looks. But these are rare so I'm glad I got it to come up so well.

Re:

Bars stripped of paint to reveal the titanium below.
I know why Raleigh painted them there is a definite seam and some very unsightly marks from the swaging process. Still, 4 grades of sand paper, Cif and a green scourer, Auto-sol and about 4 hours gets me this!
