Re: 1991 Wheeler, almost done.

I have had this bike years, started doing a strip down and clean up probably 5 years ago and i'm nearly done!
Just the chain and cables left to do now.

Managed to find Exage 500 parts in good condition fitted to a Hooger Booger, so now I have that frame with no idea what to do with it.
It has Araya RM17 rims on early XT hubs.
Not sure what the brakes are.
Syncros stem with PFR bars (something else planned for the ParkPre)
Onza Bar ends and old foam grips.

Re: 1991 Wheeler, almost done.

Weren't these fitted with the plastic fantastic 200GS from the factory? A friend had a wheeler around that time in those colours, maybe his was a lower spec one.

Carl.

Quite possibly, when I bought the bike it was in bits, and absolutely covered in crap. It had lots of knackered bits with it in 200GS and 500LX flavour, but not a full bikes worth of each.
The brakes are different again, cant remember what.
The rims are Araya, I think RM17. The colours on the decals match the bike. These are laced on to early XT hubs. :xmas-big-grin:

Its hard to find Wheeler details over here, they don't have the following here like Germany and Eastern Europe.

Re:

SO this has just turned up. I really still want one of the Prolines, but any Wheeler over here is rare so had to have this. One day, it will be nearly finished.
