Okay it's not pre 98 but it's a lovely Isla Bike ;)

Some of the grubbier bits cleaned up lovely :)

The cassette and chainring are in good order, the chains not toast but I think I'll put a new 8 speed chain on for peace of mind.

Never stripped my kid's Islabike down but that all looks so good quality wise  Its a challenge to buy quality bits like that separately.

Your right M-power, no crappy bits on the bike but well selected parts :)

I've managed to get a buyer so just need to finishing cleaning parts before cracking on.

Picked up a Clarks chain, not used one before so hope it shifts nicely.

Re:

It's on eBay already?

Not a fan of Clarkes chains but the rest of their kit is ace value. And on a kid's bike a good choice.

There are a few on eBay but this isn't, sold it to a very polite chap from Germany on here :)

I'm plensently surprised with the Clarks chain, looks like a nice peice of kit and came with a quick link, thought I had a spare gear cable long enough for the rear but all my spares are too short so that's all I need to do now, run the rear gear cable. The bike looks almost like new :xmas-big-grin:

Final updates on this quick full bike service tomorrow.
