1987 Cameron Rebuild & Wiki - A Wee Face Lift

Re:

Some of them look like the grown up version of early FS Cannondale's

For an independent fabricator
they sure put alot of larger names to shame in the design dept

Re: 1987-88 Cameron Rebuild and Wiki - The Unknown Canadian MTB

Lots of cool ideas there. Interesting to think that cameron would just trial and error the stuff constantly. Build a frame, break a frame, revise, and repeat. Pretty amazing for a one man operation to turn out such complicated designs. I keep running into people that knew the guy. Lots of cool stories about him ... Shame he never got more widely known.

I'll post the mag article when I get home. Found it on another site :)

Re:

does this mean I don't have to get the review scanned?
been waiting for our IT guy to get the time to
show me how to use the new scanner.

That frame kind of reminds me of the proflex carbon frame..

Cyclologic was a early dealer for proflex and mantis. Cameron definately got some ideas there. Lots of cool variations on the Mac strut on the cameron.

That MBA test mule must be somewhere.

Re: 1987-88 Cameron Rebuild and Wiki - The Unknown Canadian MTB

It's being ridden now. This isn't the complete spec. I haven't given up in my search for more Cameron bits :) It can now be enjoyed now and go back to the Don were it belongs.

I have an 8 speed 737 wheelset on it now with the thumbs set to friction, but a set of NOS DX-mavics are being built. Once those are done I have some very nice Gonzo Mudslingers to put on her.

Wish List:
- Black seatpost: Syncros, IRD, or XT730 in 26.4
- Cameron bar stem combo

Great patina on this thing. This may be my new fav ride.

Re:

Thats looking great. Love the simple and black lines, very similar to my FS that I've just started to put together.

Definitely doesn't look like a frame/bike that is nearly 30 years old

Re:

Wow, that M730 group is in nice shape. Love the Rockshox with the Bonty crown too
