The North Wales Mountain Bike held it's first XC race way back on the 17th August 1990, an evening race at Clocaenog Forest. After that working first with the MBC we created courses at Beddgelert Forest and held the last major MBC finals before the formation of the BMBF for whom we held the first national Downhill and Hillclimb Championships in 1991 at Beddgelert and later an NPS and the UK's first Downhill only NPS round. Later one we developed courses at Coed y Brenin and Gwydyr Forest that were developed into the Red Bull and part of the Marin Trail and held National Points Series, NPS Finals and National Championships at Nannerch and helped out with two NEMBA rounds after the demise of Bosley.
With the pedigree and number of riders that have crossed our start and finish lines we feel the miles ridden need to be celebrated so we are workign with partners to create a new 100 mile enduro event at Clocaenog Forest at Llyn Brenig, over the weekend we hope to have an evening party on the 21st with a Retrobike ride around the Alwen Reservoir or into the forest with associated BBQ/ Party / Retro film show or what ever.
We are of course very keen to invite any riders who have ridden one of the many NWMBA events including those at Llandegla and Bala, however we would liek to invite any owners of Retrobikes who feel they would like to add to the commemorations by making an appearance.
