Cheers orange, did me proud again, more rubber to rock area on them hairy descents. Twas a good day, weather "turned out nice again" good crew, few laughs on the way, especially at the "lets off road" stop where there were some great "off road" blokes complete with camos, and their kids has camos as well, .....made me laugh anyway.
Route was gruelling for the unfit novices (err - me), but not as bad as last year...or just maybe i'm a tiny bit fitter?(!)

Good to meet new and ahem... "old" faces, no offence :D

Must add though, top marks to Mr K for the route! Bit of everything, absolutely perfect 8)

The last climb was my fave bit :D

However, there were moments when I regretted going rigid  Probably no the best ride to decide to try it for the first time in over 10 years

Cant wait for Peaks 09

yep, looks like a great day.
As is so often the case, weather is never as bad as it looks before hand.

Initial memories/flashbacks...

> EdEdwards attempts to build my Explosif frameset into a rideable bike - with less than 14 hours till ride start time...

> Max holes up with new faces in Hope...

> Writing the Retrobike Pub Quiz at 1am on Friday...

> The size of the gathering and the fettling outside the cafe...

> EdEdwards impresses the Guvnor with a middle ring ascent of Winats in 7'41... before the Poo of Fear

> Looking back down the first road section to see the impressive retro peloton...

> Thankful for great visibility this year, the views remain epic all day...

> The baying, blood-thirsty crowd at the foot of the first downhill...

> Rigid winning the hillclimb challenge - back to the drawing board for Liam!

> Gonzalez snaffling morsels from the dirty plates and the bins at the cafe...

> Max riding in gentlemans brogues...

> Great camaraderie, determined riding and few mechanicals...

> First viewings of Fairfax Pat's Repack video - featuring Joe Breeze...

> JV's second anal crown...

> Heathy's monkey incident...

> EdEdwards' 6'40 run up Winats before Sunday breakfast....

More as they creep back into the weary brain, no doubt....
